So,
SPEAKER_04:Welcome to episode two of Glamour Curl You're Looking Good, the podcast where we deep dive into all things hair, makeup, and beauty. Today, we're spotlighting a brand that's making waves in the world of hair repair, Kobo. Their damage repair range is specifically formulated for dry and extremely damaged hair, and it's packed with powerhouse ingredients like argan oil, keratin, and wheat protein. I'm your host, Nicole, and today I have with me Kobo representative Cece, who's going to tell us a little bit more about this game-changing range. Welcome Cece and thank you for joining me
SPEAKER_01:today. Thank you Nicole for having me today. It's so nice to finally meet you through this podcast. I've been waiting for so long. I
SPEAKER_04:know, me too. It's amazing to hear and it's so nice and refreshing to hear. I know you were saying earlier to hear another Aussie voice because obviously you're not based in Australia, you're based in Hong Kong. So hearing the Aussie voice just brings you back home, doesn't it? You
SPEAKER_01:know what's funny, Nicole? When you walk on the streets of Hong Kong, an Australian accent is so obvious. It's so, so, so obvious. Like, when you're at home, you can pick out American, British, Canadian accents like this. But when you go overseas, the Australian accent, it's like basically a foursome in the best, best way. Yeah. Because it sounds like home for me. Like, oh, someone speaks like, you know, Australian accent. It's home. But do you know what it is, though? It's the no. It's how we say no. Really? Honestly, it is. No, no. Because Australians, we say no as in like N-A-U-R, but the others will say no. Like, it's deep. Yeah. That's when you're like, definitely not New Zealand, definitely Australian.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. But are you telling me that people say no to you a lot? Is that how you've worked that out?
SPEAKER_01:Well, rejection is a way to be stimulated. It builds character and resilience. It does. It
SPEAKER_03:really does.
SPEAKER_01:Not the snakes in Australia, not the spiders, not the alligators, no, crocodiles. It's the rejection, the pure rejections. That's what it is.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, we've all got stories about rejections, so don't worry. You're not the only one. I'm
SPEAKER_01:sure we can sit here
SPEAKER_04:over a few glasses of wine one day and talk about all the rejection stories. There's plenty. I
SPEAKER_01:hope it's red wine, though. Oh,
SPEAKER_04:definitely red wine. And we're getting into the cooler months, so it has to be red wine.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, so that's a little trip now. We need to go a little trip to the Southern Highlands. So just curious, where are you based, Nicole?
SPEAKER_04:Very close to the Southern Highlands. Very close. About
SPEAKER_01:where?
SPEAKER_04:Camden. So not very
SPEAKER_01:far
SPEAKER_04:from Boweral, Mittagong, all the way down there. So it's
SPEAKER_01:half an hour away. So there's actually a vineyard around there. It's just another, I think, three-hour drive from the Southern Highlands called Milton. I know exactly
SPEAKER_04:where Milton is.
SPEAKER_01:My favorite estate is there. It's called Jupiter's Estate. Oh my goodness. It's amazing. I think we need to mark a time in there and we'll just have a little trip there.
SPEAKER_04:I think we definitely do. And then I can tell everyone on the next podcast how amazing your hair is. So Cece has the most amazing hair and I know it's probably going to come across as sounding really creepy, but I just want to like touch it. In a non-creepy way. But it is absolutely beautiful. And I'm so jealous because I was saying before we started recording this podcast... It's very humid, especially because we've had a lot of rain today. So it is very humid and especially in my little booth where I'm recording today. It's so hot and my hair, I look like Uncle Fester. I mean, he doesn't have hair, but who's Cousin It? Cousin It is the one with all the hair. Cousin It, Cousin It, Cousin It. That's who I feel like today. It's terrible. but the good thing is we are talking about hair care today which is probably good good timing because because my hair definitely needs it. Now, you are new to this. So in previous episodes, we kick off each episode with an icebreaker. And today, because we're talking about hair, it's going to be a two truths and one lie, the hair edition. So each of us.
SPEAKER_01:Two truths and one lie.
SPEAKER_04:Two truths and one lie. So two things are going to be true and one is going to be a lie. And the idea of it is we share hair stories. And I have to guess which one's a lie and you have to guess which one's a lie. You got it?
SPEAKER_01:So, side note is, I may or may not have stalked your first podcast and because it's so vibrant, I might have listened to it a bit too much and also the accent sounded like home it was a bit of a pick-me-up after work okay yes so i might
SPEAKER_04:divulge one of the stories that i mentioned in that first episode no doubt i love a good story time let's go okay okay so you're probably gonna get one of them but the other two you haven't heard yet so let's see how we go okay okay let's go I once poured a bottle of bleach on my head in
SPEAKER_02:an
SPEAKER_04:attempt to go blonde and I lost a lot of hair in the process. So as you could imagine, bleach, you lose a lot of hair. Number two, I wanted a fringe. I wanted a fringe in my early twenties. So after a shower one night, now this is not knowing how hair works. I'm not a hairdresser. Obviously, I'm not expected to know. Okay. But I pulled my fringe down over my eyes, got a pair of scissors, and cut to where I wanted my fringe to sit. So you could imagine, like, I want my fringe to sit above my eyebrows, to hide my big forehead, because I've got a massive forehead. So I wanted to hide... She doesn't, guys. She doesn't. I don't! Okay, side note. My husband tells me I've got a five head. So it's not a forehead. It's one step bigger, which is five. That's how big my head is. I think he just needs glasses. That's what I think he needs. Maybe I'll lend him mine. But yeah, so I actually cut my hair and when it dried, you could imagine that it ended up being... Just hold it up. It's dreadful. And I ended up having to pin it back for like months until it grew out. And then... Yes, I know. I know. If that is true, it's hard to believe, isn't it? And... the third one all right so the third one uh for the world's greatest shave i shaved my head in 2014 and that they're my three hair three two truths and one lie what do you reckon
SPEAKER_01:two trips and a lie just out of girl code i really hope you didn't do the cut like that would have been The growing out process would have been the longest period of your life. It would have just been horrific. So, you know what? I'm going to lock in and say the lie was you cut your hair. I pray for you that's the lie. I pray for you that's the lie.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. Well, I wish you'd prayed for me that day because unfortunately it's true. It is true. I cut my hair because I had this... I was 20 I think not even yeah 20 20 just just turned 20 and I thought because Rihanna was so big back then and she had amazing an amazing bangs when I was 20 and I was like I really want to be like Rihanna so I cut my hair thinking I was going to look like her only I ended up with a fringe that was an inch in in um in height
SPEAKER_01:i think you just look slightly different from rihanna slightly different slightly different a little bit
SPEAKER_04:like
SPEAKER_01:i'm just a little bit
SPEAKER_03:very much different i'm
SPEAKER_01:not from the caribbean or bahamas well um I've got no comment. Out of girl code, I just really, because at least with bleach, you can just put a cap on, it covers everything. True. But the fringe, the fringe. Yeah, I
SPEAKER_04:know.
SPEAKER_01:But that's what headbands are for. So it was all right. True,
SPEAKER_04:true. So how long did
SPEAKER_01:it take for you to grow
SPEAKER_04:that out? A very long time. I think it was like, before it got to an acceptable length, I think it was probably about four months. And then I went to the hairdressers and got them to tidy it up. Because I had this thing, even into my 30s I had this thing I hated how hairdressers did my fringe if I wanted a bangs so I do every now and then I do get one because I do like do like the look um but I'm terrible at doing it so I can't blow dry it properly I'm terrible at blow drying my hair so I always have this thing that I start cutting my own fringe but I keep bringing more and more hair from the back forward and then I have ends up having this massive fringe that like starts hard way I do it every time and then my hairdresser's like, dude,
SPEAKER_02:can you please stop cutting your
SPEAKER_04:fringe?
SPEAKER_01:No more fringe for you. I think everyone's low-key best friend is the hairdresser. Low-key best friend is the hairdresser. Oh, definitely. Oh, I couldn't fathom that because I'm pretty fit to my job. I take pretty good care of my hair.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, you do.
SPEAKER_01:So I am an enthusiast for finding the right hairdresser for you. And by the sounds of it, you really found yourself one after all these years. She's amazing.
SPEAKER_04:She's amazing. And she's very, very honest. Like if I say... Because you would have heard in the first podcast, I was talking about my hair colors and stuff, and I've gone through phases of having pinks. Yeah, the red. And when I said to her last time, I need to go red. I miss being red. I want to go red. She looked at me dead in the eyes and she said, you're not going red. And I'm like, yes, I am. I'm paying for this. Like, make my hair red. And she's like, you are going to regret it. It's not going to stay in. And you're going to complain in four days time that it's not there anymore. And I'm like, no, I won't. I did. Then she just said, i'm not listening to you you didn't listen to me don't talk to me at least
SPEAKER_01:really mad at me at least that's testing your friendship it's just true she guys aren't you guys are also friends because a true friend will tell you off true friend will tell you off
SPEAKER_04:oh yeah she did and she made me she made me deal with it every time i went in after that so i did cop it
SPEAKER_01:i could imagine okay let me tell me yours A few truths and a lie, hair edition.
SPEAKER_04:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:Let me just think. Okay, I've got it.
SPEAKER_04:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:So the first one is for the longest period of time I haven't washed my hair was 67 weeks. Hang on, wait, 67
SPEAKER_04:weeks? Six to seven weeks. Oh, six to... I was going to say 67 weeks. Big. Oh, yes. Okay. My health is in dreadlock. Six to seven weeks is still a very, very long time. Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_01:Yep. Got that. So let's
SPEAKER_04:just cap it
SPEAKER_01:and say it's two months. Cap it and say it's two months.
SPEAKER_04:Two months. Okay. Got it. Yep.
SPEAKER_01:Bad story, it was during COVID, training scalp, X, Y, Z. COVID was a time of everything crazy. The next one is I have complete virgin hair. I have never chemically treated my hair in any way, any way, any sort. And now the third one is similar to you, as I heard from your last podcast, because I'm in the industry, I'm an absolute hair enthusiast. So I went through this like Asian balayage stage where every Asian was going through a balayage, they were dying their hair with like every single ashtone possible. So for all you hairdressers out there, the 0.11s, that was my Bible and go-to. So now, unfortunately, my hair now, it is actually all extensions and it's just all thick hair.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. Oh my God. See, like I said to everyone before, your hair is amazing. So, I mean, I can't see it in person. So I'm going to go with, I reckon the lie is going that long without washing your hair. Is it a lie?
SPEAKER_01:Confession time. I have
SPEAKER_03:bugs crawling in my hair, Cece. I left it that long.
SPEAKER_01:You know what? A little plug in. There's a trusted Australian brand that we all bought the tote for in high school. That brand comes with mulberry silk pillowcases.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that brand. That little plug in there. I actually went to that store online, because it was COVID, and I bought quite an amount of just the silk pillow, because me, myself, I love using silk pillow. It's just for my skin. That is so good. I was going to ask
SPEAKER_04:you about that, because that's on my purchase list for Mother's Day for my 18-year-old, because I was like, what am I supposed to buy you? I haven't used a silk pillowcase before.
SPEAKER_01:They are a game. Look, long-term-wise, they're a game-changer for your skin, but what I would advise is follow the washing instructions on how to wash it. The line, no, the I didn't tell the truth. The truth is I have complete virgin hair. Never chemically treated my hair before.
SPEAKER_04:Like I've said this to you, like before we started recording, you have amazing hair. Like it's unbelievable. But I think I've got a friend of mine that also hasn't colored her hair before and she also has amazing hair. So it begs to differ. is chemically doing things to your hair is it good for your hair in
SPEAKER_01:reality because yeah it's actually really different because with my hair i was born with naturally really like harsh stubby hair like
SPEAKER_02:yeah
SPEAKER_01:less than what you think it's really harsh and stubby yeah and through all these years and i love swimming like on like on the beach like any any swimming i'm down i'm like you'll find me that i'm stressed i'm happy i'm any anytime you find me at a pool yeah beach pool just whatever cool so products really really do help your hair
SPEAKER_04:yeah
SPEAKER_01:like it's a game changer it's a complete game changer because even if you have the silkiest hair on earth there's so much environmental damage there's so much like damage from every single day from the sun or even just the pollutants in your hair yeah not not to put aside when you don't wash your hair for 67 weeks at home it's still disgusting yeah so yes um the truth is virgin hair and the lie is i actually yeah don't have hair extensions never had a belly stage never had a belly stage but my friends around me did so i was like choosing the color palettes for them so the funny story is one of my best friends she had a stage where she didn't know what her hair color was that's me yeah so then i was like babe you know what you should go red you should go red and i showed her to my hairstylist and he's the best color technician like for asian hair um yeah plugging the nick nick um amazing and she thought i have read for two years straight and her hair was never truly damaged wow everything plays a part which hair dryer you use which products you use how you use a product the education piece it does listen to your hairdressers
SPEAKER_04:that's the biggest yeah that's the biggest thing though because when it comes to hair especially hair care products it's it's really hard to find the information that's right. Because I mean, I know for me, if I've used, cause I use a certain brand, I have been using a certain brand for quite some time because it's all natural. Cause I have extremely sensitive skin. So I have psoriasis and I need to use, I don't have it at the moment, like I'm clear of it, but it does get extremely sensitive. So I need to make sure that there's nothing harsh in my shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments, all of that stuff. can't have any harsh chemicals in it. So I've gone through a phase of going through a few brands to find the right one. And they all, I mean, Yeah, they all are different. It's
SPEAKER_01:also for kind of like, it's like skincare, like haircare and skincare comes hand in hand. It also depends on what kind of scalp you have, what condition of your scalp you have. So for example, some people when they have a sensitive scalp, I would tell them to use like a scalp shampoo rather than like a hydrating shampoo, or you can even mix the two, depending on what you use. So it's all, think of haircare as skincare, like skincare is a massive hype right now. Having the glass, glass skin, but the layers don't really mean it's going to work you for example because i am the biggest skincare enthusiast yeah i am as well yeah i'm pretty i'm
SPEAKER_04:pretty up there with skincare as well yeah
SPEAKER_01:like anything that's but the other thing is i don't really repeat the same product twice oh you're good so you
SPEAKER_04:don't see is it because you're worried that your skin's gonna get used to it
SPEAKER_01:no because there's just so
SPEAKER_04:much on
SPEAKER_01:market
SPEAKER_04:i just want to see what's actually good it's funny how everyone gets so engrossed in skincare but then they forget hair and skin go hand in hand. Hand in hand. Thank you. They do. Yes. Yeah. And that's why a lot of like products that they say like or even like the vitamins. Yes. It's hair and skin because they go hand
SPEAKER_01:in hand. And it's also like what you put in your body as well. Like it's like honestly as annoying as it sounds as every mother out there every grandmother says hydration, hydration, hydration, hydration. True. Water, water, water, water. Yeah. So hydration as in hydration for your hair hydration for your skin everything is just hydration because hydration is toughness
SPEAKER_04:yeah
SPEAKER_01:yeah well i don't
SPEAKER_04:need i don't need to be any more plump than i already am but you know i know what you mean i know what you mean
SPEAKER_01:We don't mean water
SPEAKER_04:retention.
SPEAKER_01:Water retention. And the thing is, guys, that we have actually spoken for quite a long time before all this podcast. So I think right now we're going to have to get back on track real
SPEAKER_04:quick. We do like talking a lot, but we have covered some pretty good content.
SPEAKER_01:But we
SPEAKER_04:do need to get into the nitty gritty about the Kobo Damage Repair Range because that is the star of the show today. So we're going to jump right into it. The Kobo's Moisture Repairing Shampoo. It's said to be enriched with antioxidant-rich argan oil and keratin. Can you talk a little bit about how this combination works for revitalizing damaged hair? For example, mine.
SPEAKER_01:Firstly, I just want to put out there that this product was actually made for people with brittle hair or dry hair or just overly processed hair in general. Because as we all know, we'd love to just kind of change up our image a bit here and there. So if your hair has been stressed from start curling, coloring, chemically treating, or even like say like environmental damage. This line, I have to say like, sorry, Nicole, to your best friend, but to your hairdresser, you found yourself your best friend. This product may or may not replace your best friend at this
SPEAKER_04:stage. She might be offended,
SPEAKER_01:but that's all right. I can sweet talk into it. So with this shampoo, the main idea is to actually nourish your hair without stripping anything. And it just retains natural oils on your scalp for like a lightweight finish. Yep. So with Everything on market right now with a lot of shampoos, they kind of strip everything from your hair. So before you even use your conditioners or even say treatments, it just stripped everything. So your hair just feels really ratty. I know it sounds too Australian, but yes, it does. It does feel like that. So when Github will come out of a salon, your hair just looks amazing. And you just want that at home as well. And since we want that at home, then why not put it in a bottle? And when my team and I were coming out with this, we tested this formula so many times. That's the ratio and percentage peritone and like argan oil we've put in there and also the wheat extract it's in our eyes the perfect formulation to just bring hydration back in your hair and to just like prevent the damage and strains from like it just every single day and it's just not only on the surface but also down below as well
SPEAKER_04:yeah sounds awesome it's exactly what i need for my hair because i've got like i said i've got i have gone through every color possible because i've blonde is the only one that stays really stays in my hair um it's looking to be terrible now because i'm due for a color but i'm getting it done next week thankfully um but yeah it does it does really pack a punch like when you do have especially bleach blonde hair it does tend to dry out very easily and yeah and like i was saying offline i i tend to straighten my hair a lot because i've got in between hair so i've got not straight not curly very wavy and when it's humid it goes fuzzy and frizzy and it's like so hard to tame So I do tend to straighten it a lot, which puts a lot of stress on especially the ends of my hair. So every time I go to the hairdresser, she's got to take like a couple of inches off to try to get rid of those really crappy dead ends or split ends, which is exactly what the bleach does. So I'm always looking for products to help hydration in my hair. So that's why I'm glad. I mean, look, I am drinking from my water bottle right now. I'm not pouring it over my head. but I am drinking, so I do try to keep hydrated. Yeah, woo, winning. We both have our water with us, which is good. Now. It's both pink. Yeah, exactly. We do love the color pink, everyone. We do like
SPEAKER_01:both of us. We had this conversation. We have.
SPEAKER_04:Offline.
SPEAKER_01:It was a very intense conversation. About pink. Trying in line with about pink and Glamour Co. because that happens with the pink. It sure
SPEAKER_04:does, which is why I love it because, yeah, like the podcast pitcher. I'm in pink. The background's pink. It suits me to a tee. I love it. Very up my alley. Now, of course, we're talking about shampoo. So with shampoo routine, it's obviously not complete without the conditioner. So what sets the moisture repairing conditioner apart from others on the market?
SPEAKER_01:So, yeah, completely correct. There's no good shampoo without a good conditioner. And the one thing that we don't just only put it on a product, but we actually stand by is that with our conditioners, there are no harsh additives. So there's a policy that when we're creating all these formulations that we don't want any harsh additives because Nicole as you mentioned with your hair you have a really sensitive scalp so with some sensitive scalp it's really hard to find products that actually nourishes without like just flaring up your skin
SPEAKER_04:yeah
SPEAKER_01:so with these products there's no harsh additives but most importantly the hydration the hydrating factor and the lightweightness so once again when you use any products usually that's for like damaged hair or like chemically treated hair it feels amazing when you're washing but then And afterwards, when you go home, it's just so heavy. Like you don't even need to go outside when you go out with your friends. Your hair just feels so heavy. It does. It weighs you down. It weighs you down. It's like wearing a really heavy
SPEAKER_04:pair of earrings. That's what it feels like. Oh my gosh,
SPEAKER_01:yes. Yeah, definitely. It definitely feels like that. So then like with all products, I'm not going to give you the promise of saying use our product once and you're going to see results. But I can assure you if you continuously use our products for just like a healthy amount, you'll see the results gradually. because at kobo we really want to make hair care that it's more of a gradual repair because it's repairing inside out and if you just repair the surface then you're just going to get products that just helps you then and there and you use it a few weeks a few months later it just doesn't work anymore but it also
SPEAKER_04:causes build up on your hair as well yeah so much which is what a lot of products are trying to avoid now because it masks the issue it doesn't get to the bottom of the problem which obviously in this it talking about these kobo products we're talking about hydration and trying to fix it from the roots out and not just covering it up if that makes sense
SPEAKER_01:oh definitely but there's a little trick as you mentioned you double wash your um hair with shampoo the tip is actually to put the conditioner from the bottom of your hair and then just slowly let it work itself up okay i actually just use like to use my fingers to just like run it through my hair and just leave your conditioner in for about one to two minutes so sing yourself a song a little lullaby whatever you want for me it's more like um like edm it's more like hard style but still you can't really sing that but um yes you'll have a
SPEAKER_04:nightclub in your bathroom oh
SPEAKER_01:i just need some lasers shooting just hearing they're just beaming everywhere so there's a there's a little story nicole behind a conditioner um justin and i spent a year year. One whole year formulating the conditioner. It's trial and error. It wasn't just on my hair, which is obviously Asian hair, but we place it through trial and error for a solid year before we were like, you know, this would be universal. This will be universal. Hopefully. That's amazing. Oh
SPEAKER_04:my goodness. You trialed it for a year. See, I would get over
SPEAKER_01:it in five minutes. And it's also really hard when you told your friends around you that you're making a product that's so... That's a little push of motivation there.
SPEAKER_04:It's going. It's okay. It's getting there. It's getting there. Then at the year, Mike, you're like, we've done it. We've done it. We've come up with this amazing product.
SPEAKER_01:When it was ready, we're like, okay, number three is done. Because in our Kobo range, there's actually like eight lines for different hair, like wavy hair, for scalp repair, even for like males. We'll get into that another day. But there's just so many, so many products to do. So just on and off. You just really didn't have time to get sick of the products because by the minute you're doing the the next minute the other results come in so it's just a kind of filtering through it's a fun process it
SPEAKER_04:sounds amazing it sounds so creative as well like such a creative so much and especially when you get it right like when you get it right like i could just imagine the champagne going off when you've got it oh my gosh champagne's plurals yeah exactly Plenty of red wine, I think, would have been going around the table that night.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, red wine, whiskey, champagne. All the good stuff.
SPEAKER_04:And now we're talking about deeper treatment. So you've got the, I can never say this properly. Please forgive me. Restorative hair mask. Is that right? Restorative hair mask. And it sounds like it's the hero product. Now it's got argan oil, keratin, wheat protein. Can you explain what kind of benefits or repair benefits users can expect after using this after a few washes?
SPEAKER_01:Oh my gosh, I don't know where to start with this, honestly. So, sorry with the name. I don't know what we were thinking. So, I say restorative, restorative, anything, any accent that you like to call it.
SPEAKER_03:I know, I probably said it wrong. Like I said, I probably said it wrong.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, poor Justin. Sorry, Justin. It's alright, it's
SPEAKER_01:alright. I'll give him a little tap on the shoulder later and be like, okay, honey. With this, you're 100% it was our hero product. So, we'll play a little game here today and find our Next Hero product. So with the Respirative Mask, like I was mentioning to you before, I am quite the swimmer. I love swimming. It's just something so therapeutic about just walking on a beach in summer, in spring, even in autumn in Australia. And you just, after you go for a good dip, you just walk on the beach and then just go home. But at the beach, you can't use any products that has any chemicals in it or just any products in general to wash your hair on the beach. So when you get home And usually your hair, it just feels very salty. Yeah, it does. And it just feels really like grassy, like just the harsh grass. Like hay, it just feels like hay pretty much. So with this product, what I had in mind was like, so people with chemically treated hair or people with my hair during those summers, it's just disgusting. It's the worst thing on earth. And there's so many products on market. It's so bad. And then when you have products on market where you use it once and you wake up the next morning because it just coats your hair, your hair just ends up dry and brittle, like even more brittle to when you washed it. Cause we all know that we're all just going to blow dry our hair afterwards. So it just takes more stress out of it. her so with this product we've designed it in a way where like for those days where you know you need that intensive clean and you need it repetitively you can actually use this product for every single day use when needed when needed i still encourage to use a conditioner but when you need it you can and all you need to do is just leave it for like a few minutes i would say five minutes max and they can just rinse it off so i have a question for you yeah i have a question
SPEAKER_04:so yeah like like we're Q&A here. Usually what I do when I wash my hair, so I do, if I'm putting a mask in, which I do only once a week at the moment, if I need it more than that, then I'll put it in more than once a week. But I do shampoo twice, conditioner, and then mask. With this mask, do you need to condition or do you wash? You do your two washes and then you put the mask in. What would you suggest? you suggest the whole regime every day or would you say skip a couple of days of conditioner and put the mask in instead what would you suggest
SPEAKER_01:i would actually say skip the conditioner okay skip the conditioner. Because again, I'm really against products being heavy weighted on your scalp. I truly hate that. And a big reason why I also passion design this line was to design products that works and it doesn't wear your hair down. And guys, side note, I have really long hair.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, you
SPEAKER_01:do. My hair is like, it's nearly up to my waist. It's not yet, but it might get there one day. So I wanted a product that, you know, on market, we tried and errored so many products. products and some people say you know use the conditioner and the treatment together but for me personally I would say no like even though it's like oh we sell another product off the shelf I don't want that for you guys I just want you guys to use the product to what you need
SPEAKER_04:yeah makes sense yeah yeah okay it's good to know because yeah I think
SPEAKER_01:um
SPEAKER_04:historically people just think wash with the shampoo condition hair mask like to be quite honest with you i've only started using a hair mask the last couple of years i've i never did it before but then it got to the point where my hair was really dry i really needed to put some sort of moisture back in my hair so i have been using masks but it's interesting because i never thought of skipping the conditioner and using the mask instead but my hair is due for a wash tonight so i'm actually going to give that a shot i don't have kobo on me i know Naughty Nicole, I don't have Kobo, but I do have another product that I can test out, but I'm sure Kobo is so much better than this
SPEAKER_01:one. Well, Nicole, that gives me an excuse to find you when I'm back in Australia to do a little love hamper. So you just gave me the perfect way in to give me a little present. I would say like not all products can do that, but I'm very confident Kobo can because again, we do like this, we really just focus on inside out repair. We're really, really focused on it. So from my personal experience I would just basically take this little, well, it's not little, it's pretty big. Yeah. I just take this jar. Oh God, that's massive. You get a few out of those though. So we made it in like a 450 millilitre. So, you know, it's amazing. Yeah. Again, we want this to be like a gradual, you know, gradual use. It's not a one shot wonder because nothing's a one shot wonder in life. And the product itself, actually, it's not that thick because the other thing, it's a lot of products on market. If you can tell, just like scoop a bit for you. It's really like, it's really lightweight.
SPEAKER_04:Oh yeah. It is
SPEAKER_01:very lightweight. It's really lightweight. Oh, that's awesome. If you see me just like, I know you guys can't see it but if you can just yeah it's just really like there's a bit of product like it's just in it's just done yeah because again we want to concentrate the formula we want to concentrate it instead of just using another product out there that's just so thick and sticky and hard yeah your hair oh it's just reminding me the trialing days when i was going through products it was quite a nightmare
SPEAKER_04:yeah i could imagine your hair would have copped it as well
SPEAKER_01:oh trust
SPEAKER_04:me i i
SPEAKER_01:had an excuse to go swimming every day which was great but unfortunately there's
SPEAKER_04:now there's one product that i found that was super interesting uh and it's the dd cream so it's marketed as an all-in-one leave-in with 10 benefits now that is a very bold promise how does it deliver that total hair perfection in just one step
SPEAKER_01:so nicole let me ask you a quick question what do you think dd stands for it's the most it's the lamest most straightforward question out there.
SPEAKER_04:I've been thinking about this and I don't know. I thought damage something. I don't know. Something to do with damage. Because I thought BB cream. I don't even know what BB stands for, but like BB cream for your face. DD cream. I kind of like it, but I have absolutely no idea. What
SPEAKER_01:is it? I actually think that you were sitting in our office when we were designing this because that's where it came from. Oh, really? It did. Actually, it did. So, you know, BB cream stands for like blemish balm so just to cover up so but instead of covering up for this product for our dd cream it stands for daily defense so we're naming this daily defense correct so it's just as simple as like we just want to straightforward when you look at a product and this product is just 150 milliliters you don't really need much i would advise not to use that much
SPEAKER_02:yeah
SPEAKER_01:and it's just a really lightweight again lightweight lightweight lightweight formula and it's just simple as a multi multitasker. Because just to name a few of the 10 benefits we have in there, like of course, one, hydration, moisturizing, that's the first thing. And then it has detangling, it's frizz control, what we need right now.
SPEAKER_04:What I need right now, yes, definitely.
SPEAKER_01:Like heat protection, shine, and just to preserve your color from after going to the salon. It's just to name a few, like you can read the list if you guys are interested in the product later. What it makes it so effective, it's the lightweight conditioning agents we have in the product itself. so in the product there's antioxidants there's protein complexes and with the formulation it's another product that you just really helps with the hair fiber it really just makes your hair fibers easier to style and it just helps your hair fibers to just be stronger because that's awesome us girls we love well guys these days as well we love styling our hair and you just want one product that doesn't doesn't take like all the space in your cabinetry you just put it in one product and then you just deliver hair salon results. because the other thing is i'll give you a tip on how to use it so with girls with like long hair like mine or not oh i forgot we're on a podcast so just fix your hair in two side by side and then just warm a bit on your hand like just rub it warm it up and then just put it on the ends and then just slowly comb it upwards on your hair just slowly comb it upwards with your fingers like just go like this i don't know no one can see but combing your hair with your fingers yeah pretty much or if you do want you can like get a comb and comb it in as well but But let's be honest, who really has time for that?
SPEAKER_04:That's true. But we're going to talk about the finishing touches now. So the Ultimate Remedy Serum and Miracle Care Intensive Shot Masks. This I'm excited about. So these seem to be like the next level damage control. Can you break down how these hold with ongoing care, repair and protection?
SPEAKER_01:So I don't know if you've tried. Oh, actually, Nicole, let me ask you first. Remember we were playing a little game on what is our next hero product? I would actually want you to guess what is the next hero product. giving a dead giveaway right now
SPEAKER_04:um okay well so this i'm gonna go the intensive shot masks are they yeah yeah
SPEAKER_01:so yes nicole it is correct our hero product is the intensive shot mask let me dive into that a bit later before now oh my gosh the serum i would just love to just shine a little light on the serum if possible so with the serum i have a lot of sampling guys i know you guys can't see but i'm so sorry with the serum it's so do you know when you buy serums on market it's just so thick it's so heavy it's like it is and even when you try it on the shelf it takes so long to just like as you said sink into your skin so like i previously mentioned that all our products it's like inside out remedy it just nourishes from inside out with the serum, it's kind of like the final seal for your haircare rituals. And it just kind of locks and repair with all the damage, like just locks and repair all the products that you've used previously. So let's just think of it as like not the settings, like you have the setting spray, setting spray for makeup, and it just helps to just put that extra step. Lock it all in. Lock it all in, just lock everything in. And it provides what's best. It just not only locks, it protects, puts in an extra layer of protection, which is again, reduces frizz. as we all want. And it gives you this most amazing, luscious, luminous shine. That's the one thing that I like. I like the shiny hair. I do. So even some days where I get, the days I'm lazy and my hair's already oily and I just want a sleek back look and I just want to get all the flyaways and frizzaways, I just use this. And I just use it with the teeth combs and just tighten everything up. But again, the best thing about all the products on this range is it's extremely lightweight. And this product is so concentrated. For everyone listening, I would not advise to use that much. Just a little half pump will do Even for my hair, half pump goes wonders.
SPEAKER_04:And you just rub it in, like we've said before, like in
SPEAKER_01:your hands. Heat the product up. Heat the product up in your hands and then
SPEAKER_04:run it through your hair. With your fingers.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. You can use a teeth comb. If you do have it in your bag, just get the teeth comb and just kind of push the product up slowly. Everyone, we're on a run these days. Everyone's trying to just pay those electricity bills and the rent and the mortgage. So true. And the bottles of wine. and our bottles of wine and our extra hair care treatments. Exactly. But most importantly, so with this entire range, what we really wanted to do was just produce products that you can get like that, kind of get that salon finish. Like, of course, I can't promise you a salon finish because at the end of the day, it's a home care range.
SPEAKER_02:Exactly.
SPEAKER_01:But we just want you to have that salon finish. So then that's where like the, so to type it in, that's where the intensive shot mask came in. So Nicole, you are correct. Our next in line product is actually our Intensive Shot Mask. So with our Intensive Shot Mask, can I just show you how it looks like? Yeah. That's so cool. So it does come in this like little sleeve pack and when you pull it out, it's like the cutest little design that we've made. When you pop one out, it just comes in like this little package here where it's just enough for like a one time use. Each time you use it, you can just pop one in your handbag. So when you say like you go for a work trip or even just like a girl's weekend out, get one, put it in your bag. You don't need like a massive tub of like conditioner. You don't need to like squeeze the product into another bottle. It comes in this little, little capsule. It's amazing capsule. And we've designed it in a way where it's kind of concave. So when you scoop the product out, it doesn't get into the corners. It will stay squared shaped. Yeah, because I
SPEAKER_04:noticed that with square things, like you miss the corners. It's so annoying. annoying because you miss the product but that's awesome
SPEAKER_01:but how great is it if you just go home and just pull this out it's like a little present for yourself
SPEAKER_04:i love the packaging as well i just think it's like i don't know i've never seen anything like it before for for a hair product i've never seen anything like it so i think it's really cute it is really really cute and very innovative
SPEAKER_01:one of these just works for like mostly all hair length yeah so just one of these little capsule shots it just works it just works that's amazing so the whole point of having like you know these products on with us it's just My friends were asking me, Cece, look, we've tried the range. This is so great. But I just want to, like, you know, some days you finish work or you finish school, whatever you're finishing off, you don't want to go in a salon. You don't want to sit two hours in that chair. You just want to go home, rest, and probably go for a little bath. But you just want to feel, like, luxurious and, like, fancy and pretty afterwards. So then we came up with this little product where, when we call it the Intensive Shot Mask, we mean it. Yeah. Because with this product, it only takes three minutes. That's
SPEAKER_04:so good.
SPEAKER_01:Good. Yeah. Leave it in your hair for three minutes. So you
SPEAKER_04:feel a difference within three minutes of putting it in your
SPEAKER_01:hair. Oh, yeah. 100% you will because it's so concentrated. And also with this line, well, not this line, this product itself, it's a new hero product because alongside with all what we've mentioned before, like the argan oil, the curatine, and then the wheat extract, we've actually put squalene and hyaluronic acid in it. So as all you skincare lovers know,
SPEAKER_04:that is... Yep, yep. Definitely the hyaluronic acid. I can never say it properly, but yes.
SPEAKER_01:We know what we're talking about. I put that on my face all the time. The hydrating, now I can't say the hydrating factor of it. So, because I remember just now we're thinking like, you know, hyaluronic acid we're putting on our skin, why can't we just put it on our hair? That's what we were thinking the whole time. So what we ended up doing was just trying to come up with a formulation that also worked. And by luck and by chance and through trial and error, we came up with this product. So with like under five minutes, you can have like at the end of your little bath and you know, sometimes people wash off their body. Before you wash off your body, just, you know, wash wash it in massage it in that's so good I love this product. I think like, oh, I am so passionate about this product because it's just, it's just great. I love
SPEAKER_04:it so much. It's your baby. It's your baby as well. And look, like I said, if people haven't seen what the packaging looks like, you've got to jump onto the Glamour Co website just to have a look because it
SPEAKER_01:is so cute. I would say though, for users using it, when you use the intensive shot mask, you can skip, you know, the conditioner, but if you say like, if you want to use it in way that oh i'm scared that you know if i don't use anything straight after a shampoo my hair would be too tangly yeah for example we have that issue um i was just saying use a little bit of conditioner when i said yeah i mean like just a pea-sized amount just to like just kind of like get it detangled i wouldn't say you need it i don't use it like that so how i use this product is when i i just pop out the shower for a bit you know switch the shower off because water bills expensive and then i kind of like i twist a bit of um water out so i make my hair a bit more damp and then i just put the product in and then what i do is for this product actually i do use a teeth comb and i just comb it up but don't use the tooth comb that are too um like too small like use like the larger ones because what happens is when you use the smaller ones you take a lot of hair out all you can use your fingers to comb it in
SPEAKER_02:yeah
SPEAKER_01:and then as you're doing that you know just tie your hair up um like just i just use one of those salon clips i just clip it in and then just i know brush your teeth
SPEAKER_04:Yep.
SPEAKER_01:Do whatever you've got to
SPEAKER_04:do for a few minutes. Now, this entire line sounds like a full recovery plan for stressed out strands like mine. Now, where can the listeners get their hands on the Kobo Damage Repair Range?
SPEAKER_01:Where else but Clamato? I mean like Glamaco has six stores across Queensland like you can get it like just just get from Glamaco and from my knowledge they ship globally around Australia so it's accessible really accessible and Glamaco is a heaven for anyone who loves hair it's rows and aisles of just hair care it's a candy land
SPEAKER_04:it is a candy land for people that love hair and skin and makeup like it really is it's amazing
SPEAKER_01:it's a candy land
SPEAKER_04:But like I was saying, just jump on the website and have a look at the actual, especially the little capsules. They're so cute. And they are in pink. Is it pink packaging? We were talking about this the other day. It's
SPEAKER_01:pink packaging. It's pink packaging because Nicole and I, we were actually talking about our obsession with pink. Both of us had pink phones, pink tumblers. Everything was pink. We had a bit of a heated pink competition. But someone brought out a pink cable cord and I was like, I've lost it. My road cable is pink. She's beat me. She's beat me. Very funny. But yes, it comes in like, you know, a very dusty, pastel pink color. I love it. It's like a fantasy color. It is.
SPEAKER_04:It's very girly. I like it. I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean it's for girls, but I like the color. I'm a big fan.
SPEAKER_01:Personally, I love it too. Personally, personally love it too. Or you can also check out Instagram. It's just Kobo Professional.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, Kobo Professional. I had to find that out. Remember how I told you before we started recording? I was like, I had to find out what the Instagram page was. But yes, so Kobo Professional, they have all the product range information on there as well. As
